Golan's Movers Tells You How to Properly Pack Your Computer

golan's moving

For most of us, we can't be separated with our personal computers. We play videogames with it, and most especially, we get work done with it. However, it is time to take it apart; but not because you're throwing it away, but because you are about to move and you want it safe and secure inside its box.

With all the components of a computer, each portion needs special attention so that they won't have the slightest chances of getting damaged during the trip.

The cables

What's a desktop computer without the cables sticking out of the unit? If it's a computer from the future then it might be, but we are not at that point in time right now. So, before taking out the wires and cords out of your computer, you may want to take a picture of how they look. This way, if you're having trouble reconnecting the wires to the unit, just take a look at the picture you took to remind you on which wire goes to what port. You should also make sure that the wires are wrapped in twist-ties to keep them all from being tangled inside the boxes.

Tangled wires can be very frustrating to, well, untangle.

Keyboard

Many of us would still have the box for the keyboard lying around somewhere. If you do, then simply get it and place the keyboard inside. If you do not, simply securely wrap the device with bubble wrap. You can tape the bubble wrap tight for further protection.

Monitor

What's a computer unit without a monitor? Once again, if you still have the original box of your computer monitor then just place it inside. Just make sure that you wrap it with bubble wrap or a similar item to avoid damages. You can even place a thin piece of Styrofoam if you do not have enough bubble wrap to spare.

Computer mouse

Instructions for this device is pretty much the same as with the keyboard.

Printer

If you have a printer, do make sure that you separate the printer from its tray before placing it inside its box. Once again, make sure that the device is securely wrapped with a cushion like bubble wrap to make sure that there will be no damages.

golan's moving

Moving can be very exciting, but it can also be very stressful and very emotional. Even though you are about to move to your newly purchased house (which is also the home of your dreams), you still have to think about packing your stuff properly so that they won’t get damaged, or even destroyed in the middle of the trip. The furniture in your bedroom and living room, your large screen LED TV, your desktop computer, all those kitchen appliances, and not to mention your clothes should all be neatly packed and sorted in appropriate boxes and containers.

Packing and moving WILL take a lot of time and patience to be completed successfully. It is always important to keep memories intact. Therefore, securing each item should be duly noted to avoid any accidents along the way to your new home.

Packing furniture

When packing furniture, large or small, it is important to secure them properly. As such, it is recommended to wrap them up in bubble wrap prior to sealing them away in their appropriate containers. If you want a more cost friendly solution, you can wrap them in blankets and other sheets. By doing so will produce the same results as with wrapping them with bubble wrap.

For pillows and sofa cushions, place them inside garbage bags before putting them all in a moving truck.

Pack electronics

For your electronics and other gadgets, try to place them in their original packaging as much as possible. This will save you a lot of money and trouble in searching and purchasing new boxes. Wires and moving parts should either be taken or placed into separate packaging and/or containers. Make sure these smaller items are color coded or labeled in some way so that reinstallation becomes easier.

For dishes and glassware

When packing plates, do so by placing them vertically inside the box instead of horizontally; furthermore, place a sheet of packing paper in between them to avoid scratches. Also, place dishtowels on the sides of the boxes to cushion them further and so that the plates won’t be moving around as much inside the boxes. For even more padding, wrap the plates and/or glassware with tissues or old newspapers.
