Your Checklist for Moving Out-of-State. Tips from Golan’s Movers.

For many states, summer is the peak season for people who are going to relocate to another state. The reason could be anything from acquiring a new house, or it could be due to work-related reasons. However, no matter what time of the year it is, it can always be a rough experience when it comes to moving out-of-state.

The following are some items that you should consider putting on your checklist when you are about to move to another location.

THESE ITEMS INTO YOUR MOVING CHECKLIST. GREAT TIPS FROM GOLAN’S MOVERS.

#1 – Get an accurate estimate on the costs from a reputable moving company.

There are professional moving companies located around the United States. There are those who are able to help you move to certain locations around the U.S., while there are also some who can even assist you in moving across the country. Take Golan’s Moving &Storage as a prime example as they are able to assist you in moving to different states. They can even assist you in moving to another country! (If that’s what you’re aiming for)

Nonetheless, contact the company weeks before your moving day. Ask them to go to your current residence so that they can have a good grasp of how much work needs to be done. This way, you can get a more accurate quotation as compared to just saying “I have a lot of stuff” on the phone.

#2 – Make sure your car is all tuned up.

Even if you are not going to use your car to carry the boxes and luggage across states, it can be a hassle to have your vehicle break down in the middle of the road whilst you, and your family, or still on the trip. Therefore, have the family vehicle checked-up and well-tuned prior to the upcoming trip to avoid getting stuck in the middle of your trip.

#3 – Take a visit to the vet when travelling with pets.

There are states with different laws regarding pets. Therefore, pay a visit to the veterinarian prior to moving day. Ask for a medical certificate from the animal doctor so that you have the documents needed to support your pet as a travel companion. Who knows, you might even have to vaccinate your furry friend for the travel (some states require this).
